Awaiting the reconstruction of its building in 46 Knez Mihailova Street, planned for 2010, the Belgrade Heritage House is currently located in Ilije GaraĊĦanina Street. 24 in Belgrade.
The small team managing the Belgrade Heritage House dedicates much of its time to the creation of a Documentation Center, which should one day contain complete data on all bequests and gifts.
The process of transferring or obtaining legal jurisdiction over all existing bequests is currently underway. Once it is complete the Heritage House will actively engage in
revitalizing and promoting the bequeathed collections.
A Commission for determining criteria for reception of future gifts has been formed within the Belgrade Heritage House. Based on these criteria Guidelines for reception of new gifts will be approved.
The nine-member Commission consists of eminent experts. Some of them supported the idea of a Heritage House, while others are experts from six Belgrade museums and the Serbian Academy of Science and Art, institutions which have so far managed the bequests and a legal associate from the Belgrade district Attorney's Office.
